About University

Kathmandu University is a public autonomous, non-profitable, and third oldest public University in Nepal which is located in Dhulikhel, Bagmati, Nepal. It was established in 1991with the aim “Quality Education for Leadership.” There are seven School and campuses in Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Patan where KU offers its different courses. Kathmandu University offers postgraduate, graduate, and undergraduate courses in a variety of fields. The founder of this university is Suresh Raj Sharma, the chancellor is the Prime minister of Nepal and the vice-chancellor is Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha. This university started its academic program in 1992 in Science Program. Later in 1994, the university started launching its bachelor program in Engineering(computer, mechanical, electrical, and electronic), Biology, and Pharmacy. In 1997, the university started academic programs includes M.Phil and Ph.D., also started the Law program in 2014.
